US lost 20% of MQ-9 Reaper UAVs during operation against Iran

The US armed forces lost almost a fifth of their arsenal of heavy reconnaissance-strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) MQ-9 Reaper during the military operation against Iran.

This was reported by Bloomberg.

As noted, since the beginning of hostilities at the end of February, Iran has destroyed more than two dozen MQ-9 Reapers, which amounts to almost 20% of the Pentagon's pre-war stocks. The cost of one drone reaches $30 million; the UAVs are equipped with powerful sensors and cameras and can also carry Hellfire missiles and JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) bombs, the agency indicates.

According to its information, the US could have lost up to 30 MQ-9 Reaper drones if drones that sustained damage and were later written off are taken into account. The total damage, according to Bloomberg, could reach $1 billion.
