The issue of managing the Strait of Hormuz will be decided by the countries of the region; it is not being discussed in the context of a possible agreement with the United States.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esma'il Baghaei.

"Within the framework of the agreement, we are not discussing the nuances related to the Strait of Hormuz. The management of the strait is within the competence of the coastal countries," the Iranian state radio and television company quotes his words.
