Rubio: US does not encroach on Armenia's sovereignty and does not ask Yerevan to sever friendly relations with other countries
The US does not encroach on Armenia's sovereignty and does not ask Yerevan to sever friendly relations with other countries.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his speech in the Senate.
According to him, the signing by Armenia and the US of an agreement on strategic cooperation under the project "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) "stimulates investments from the American private sector."
"We are not seeking a monopoly for American companies, but we want them to get their fair share," he said.
"Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity — TRIPP) will become "a special transit zone that will allow Azerbaijan to gain full access to its territory in Nakhchivan while fully respecting Armenia's sovereignty," US President Donald Trump stated earlier. According to him, the partnership between Yerevan and Washington on this project "could last up to 99 years."
At the end of May, Armenia and the US initialed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation within the TRIPP project and signed the Charter of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
