Azerbaijan foreign minister receives newly appointed ambassador of Great Britain
Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov today received the newly appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Great Britain to our country, Duncan Norman.
As reported by the Foreign Ministry, the ambassador presented the minister with a copy of his credentials during the meeting.
Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic activities in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, as well as on issues of regional and international importance of mutual interest.
The sides noted with satisfaction the successful development of cooperation between Baku and London in the political, trade and economic, energy, investment, educational, and other spheres.
In addition, the importance of raising relations to the level of strategic partnership and further expanding economic cooperation was emphasized.
Bayramov provided Norman with detailed information about the current situation in the region, the new realities of the post-conflict period, and the process of normalizing relations with Armenia.
The ambassador expressed satisfaction with the start of his work in Azerbaijan and stated that he would make every effort to further develop cooperation between our countries.
