Iran begins oil exports
Iranian tankers have for the first time in the last two months begun exporting crude oil after Washington and Tehran announced a framework agreement that provides, among other things, for ending the American blockade of Iranian ports, CNN reports.
As the analytical company TankerTrackers, which tracks maritime shipments, reports, Iranian tankers have already successfully exported two batches of oil.
According to its data, confirmed by satellite images, at least two supertankers of the National Iranian Tanker Company carrying 3.8 million barrels of crude oil have passed the line of the US naval blockade.
US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz has been reopened in accordance with the terms of the agreed memorandum, but later changed the timelines, stating that the strait will be reopened after the official signing of the document on Friday in Switzerland.
