Hegseth: US will strike Iran in case of violation of obligations under the memorandum
The US armed forces may resume strikes and a blockade against Iran if Tehran fails to fulfill its obligations under the signed memorandum.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated this, Interfax reports.
"The United States will resume military operations and reimpose the blockade against Iran if it does not fulfill its obligations under the agreement with the US," he said.
He added that Washington intends to comply with all agreements but demands the same from the other side, including on Iran's nuclear program. Hegseth explained that the memorandum contains no concessions and that the US task is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. In his opinion, everything in this matter will depend on Tehran.
