Azerbaijan and Belarus discussed issues of protection of military facilities

A delegation from the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, headed by the head of the Ministry's Troop Service Directorate Colonel Dmitry Zhukovsky, visited Azerbaijan.

The visit to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan took place within the framework of the Plan for bilateral military cooperation for 2026.

During the meeting dedicated to ensuring law and order and organizing the protection of military facilities, the head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security and Investigations of the Ministry of Defense Major General Azer Ibrahimov emphasized that Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations are based on mutual trust and support.

Colonel Zhukovsky thanked for the hospitality and noted the importance of expanding opportunities for joint activities. The delegation was provided with information on the main directions of activity of the Main Directorate.

The guests then visited the Military Police Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, where they laid flowers at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The head of the Military Police Directorate Major General Elgun Aliyev emphasized the importance of mutual visits for the exchange of experience. The guests were presented with a briefing on the history, structure and activities of the Military Police Directorate, its logistical support and training program.

The parties also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
