Iran says Trump's words put Switzerland talks at risk

The words of U.S. President Donald Trump addressed to Iran have put the negotiation process in Bürgenstock under serious threat, however Tehran is ready to continue the dialogue if Washington has the desire for a diplomatic settlement. This was stated by the permanent representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN in Geneva, Ali Bahraini.

"Statements by the U.S. president have created certain problems during the negotiations in Bürgenstock. They have put the negotiations under very serious threat," he said at a briefing in Geneva, commenting on the progress of the talks. At the same time, Bahraini emphasized that "as long as the United States demonstrates readiness to negotiate with Iran and resolve the issues that have arisen, Iran will continue negotiations and participate in the dialogue."

"But I think that now it should be clear to everyone: military measures will not yield anything with regard to Iran. Military measures must be permanently excluded from the list of possible courses of action," the permanent representative added.
