Axios: US and Iran agree on mutual cessation of strikes
Representatives of the US and Iran have reached an agreement on a mutual cessation of strikes and to hold consultations in Doha on June 30 to resolve disagreements over the Strait of Hormuz.
This was reported by journalist Barak Ravid of the Axios portal, citing his own sources.
"According to a high-ranking American official, the US and Iran have agreed to stop striking each other, as both sides plan to meet on Tuesday in the capital of Qatar to resolve their differences regarding the Strait of Hormuz," he indicated.
As one of Ravid's interlocutors stated, the parties initially planned to hold consultations in Switzerland on Tuesday, where they intended to discuss the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. However, due to the escalation that occurred in recent days, the US and Iran decided to change the venue and the main topic of the negotiations.
The American source added that the head of the technical group from the US side, Nick Stewart, will participate in the consultations.
