Media: Trump plans to contact Putin after meeting with Zelensky in Turkey
U.S. President Donald Trump plans to contact Russian head of state Vladimir Putin after discussing the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict with Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara on July 8.
Reuters reported this, citing a high-ranking U.S. official.
"A high-ranking U.S. official said that Trump is likely to continue discussions with Putin after talking to Zelensky," the article states.
According to the American official quoted in the publication, Trump plans to talk to Zelensky about how to "end the war." "The president considers it very urgent to try to put an end to this," the U.S. official added.
As Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported earlier, Putin noted Moscow's readiness for a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict based on Russian approaches in a phone conversation with Trump. He added that the presidents touched on the topic of the Ukrainian settlement, including taking into account Trump's upcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7-8.
