Macron after leaving office may move to company of billionaire Niel
French President Emmanuel Macron after leaving office may take a position connected with the founder of the European telecommunications group Iliad Xavier Niel.
The newspaper Le Journal de Dimanche reported this.
According to its information, the head of the French state plans to remain in politics in the long term, for which a special position may be created connected with joint work with billionaire Xavier Niel.
The publication does not specify what functions this position will perform, emphasizing that the duties of this post are still vague. How exactly Macron will cooperate with one of the most influential European businessmen is also not reported.
The first round of presidential elections in France is scheduled for April 18, 2027. If in the first round none of the candidates for the post of head of state receives more than 50% of the votes, the two candidates who receive the largest number of votes will take part in the second round of voting on May 2. Macron, upon the expiration of his second presidential term, will no longer be able to run for the post of head of state due to restrictions prescribed in the constitution.
