Media: US and Iran negotiations may take place in Islamabad

Islamabad is the most likely venue for a new round of negotiations between representatives of Iran and the US, which is expected to take place on July 11.

This was reported by the Dawn newspaper, citing diplomatic sources.

"There are two possible places for organizing technical negotiations — the Pakistani capital and the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock," one of them said. However, Islamabad is, according to him, "the most likely option." A final decision on this has not yet been made, the publication says.

According to diplomatic sources, the negotiations will focus on Iran's nuclear program, the lifting of sanctions against Tehran and the unfreezing of its assets.
