Slovakia temporarily stopped issuing Schengen visas to tourists from Russia

Slovakia temporarily stopped issuing Schengen visas to tourists from Russia: visas are available only to athletes.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported this.

"The Slovak visa center in Russia announced a temporary cessation of accepting applications for Schengen visas for almost all travel purposes. According to the official message, in July and August 2026, documents can be submitted exclusively for a Schengen visa with the purpose 'Sport', for national visas (for any purposes)," the message states.
