Erdogan congratulates Spain national team on victory at the World Cup in soccer

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Spain's national team, which became the 2026 World Cup champion in soccer after defeating Argentina's national team in the final match by a score of 1:0.

"I wholeheartedly congratulate Spain's national team, which became the 2026 World Cup champion in soccer, and on behalf of my country and my people I extend the friendliest greetings and best wishes to the people of Spain," the head of state wrote on the social network of the Turkish company NSocial.

Spain's national team became the 2026 World Cup champion in soccer after defeating Argentina's national team in the final by a score of 1:0 in extra time.
The match, held at New Jersey Stadium, ended scoreless in regular time. Ferran Torres's goal in the 106th minute gave Spain the victory and the championship title.

For Spain's national team, this title is the second in its history after the victory at the 2010 World Cup.
