Armenia's state revenue committee accuses Tsarukyan's entertainment complex of tax evasion

Armenia's State Revenue Committee has accused the Pharaoh entertainment complex of Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan of concealing taxes amounting to 82 million drams ($212 thousand).

In a statement, the SRC notes that as a result of hosting banquets in 2025-2026, the revenue of Onira Club (which manages the complex and the Shangri-La casino) amounted to about 300 million drams, but it was not reflected in tax reports.

As a result, according to the investigation, about 82 million drams were not paid to the budget.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated.

The manager of Armenia's largest casino company, Onira Club, was stripped of its license on June 22. The reason cited was inaccuracies identified during a March inspection of the casino.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that as part of a case on the confiscation of property of illegal origin, the company Araratcement, owned by Gagik Tsarukyan, was transferred by decision of the Anti-Corruption Court to the management of the Republic of Armenia. The decision was made on the basis of a motion by the prosecutor's office.

In addition, the building of the Multi Wellness sports complex, also owned by Tsarukyan, was transferred to the balance sheet of the Yerevan municipality.

The prosecutor's office is demanding the confiscation in favor of the state of 75 real estate units, 42 vehicles, shares in 38 companies, as well as about 106 billion drams. The Yerevan municipality also reported that the Multi Wellness gym building belonging to Tsarukyan was transferred to the municipality because "the building was built with violations on the territory of the community."
