Ozgur Ozel and 91 deputies leave Turkey's Republican People's Party

Chairman of Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP) Ozgur Ozel and 91 deputies announced their withdrawal from the party.

NTV television channel reports this.

Ozel announced his departure at a press conference.

The 91 deputies who resigned will become founders of a new political organization. According to Ozel, the technical registration of the new party with the participation of the deputies has already been completed, and its official political activities will start in August-September.

After Ozgur Ozel's statement about his intention to create a new political movement, a large-scale wave of resignations began in the CHP.
