Hikmet Hajiyev on restricting access of teenagers to social networks
The legislative initiative providing for limiting the use of social networks by children under 16 years old is based on international experience and scientific research.
Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department for Foreign Policy Issues Hikmet Hajiyev stated this.
According to him, before the law enters into force, a transitional period lasting one year is planned to be established.
At the same time, some issues remain unresolved so far. In particular, this concerns verifying the age of users and implementing effective mechanisms of technical control.
Hajiyev emphasized that the implementation of the law cannot depend only on the efforts of the state. Parents, teachers, bloggers, and the social platforms themselves must actively participate in this process.
