Authorities in Turkey's Mediterranean province of Mugla have mobilized all resources to extinguish a major forest fire that broke out on July 29 in the Seydikemer district.

According to the local administration, 703 residents of 408 homes located in the fire zone have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. In addition, 45 patients of the local state hospital were evacuated. "As a result of the fire, 55 structures in 6 districts have been damaged, some have completely burned down," the Mugla governor's office noted. Twenty-five aircraft, 410 ground vehicles and 1,100 people are involved in fighting the fire.
