Former Armenian ambassador to the U.S. appointed to a new position
Former Armenian Ambassador to the United States Lilit Makunts has been appointed head of the staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
The corresponding decision was signed on Monday by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In this post, Makunts replaced Araik Harutyunyan.
"Appoint Lilit Makunts head of the staff of the prime minister," the decision states.
By another decision, Lilit Makunts was relieved of the post of acting chief adviser to the head of government.
Note that before the new appointment, Lilit Makunts was Armenia's ambassador to the United States.
The post of head of the prime minister's staff was previously held by Araik Harutyunyan, who submitted his resignation on July 20. He is currently a deputy of the National Assembly of the 9th convocation.
