Rustem Umerov to become head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service — Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he will appoint the Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Rustem Umerov, as head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
"So that he has more opportunities to deal simultaneously with issues of diplomacy, defense, the negotiation process with the U.S. and with other partners, as well as negotiations on ending the war, Umerov will be appointed head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service," Zelensky said at a meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors in Kyiv.
In turn, the post of NSDC Secretary will be taken by former Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
"This week a meeting of a special format of the NSDC will be held. <...> Ihor Klymenko will become the new NSDC Secretary," Zelensky said.
