Armed man detained on the grounds of Trump's golf club in California
In Southern California, law enforcement officers detained an armed man near the Trump National golf club.
This was reported by CNN, citing a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
According to the agency, federal agents reported a suspicious person who was on the grounds of the golf club, after which he was detained.
A CNN source in federal law enforcement said that at present there are no grounds to believe that the detainee was preparing an assassination attempt on U.S. President Donald Trump. At the same time, the investigation is continuing.
It is noted that today Donald Trump plans to visit Los Angeles to take part in a Republican National Committee event.
According to police, the detainee turned out to be 38-year-old Jenin John Tale from the city of Downey. In addition, he is a subject of an investigation being conducted by the El Segundo Police Department in a robbery case.
