Media: U.S. investigating safety violation during Trump's departure
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is determining the causes of the violation of safety standards during the departure of the helicopter of American leader Donald Trump from the pad on the grounds of the White House.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.
As noted, according to safety rules, the departure of commercial flights from Ronald Reagan Airport, located in the vicinity of Washington, was supposed to be suspended in connection with Trump's scheduled departure from the White House. Under the established standards, aircraft cannot come closer than a mile and a half (about 2.5 km) to the presidential helicopter. These norms were not observed.
Despite the failure to comply with the protocols, during the flight civilian aircraft were not in dangerous proximity to the helicopter with Trump on board, the publication indicates.
