Media: European and Russian politicians held secret talks in Vienna

Former officials from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Russia held a meeting in Vienna, Austria, in July, reportedly to discuss the conditions for negotiations on settling the conflict in Ukraine.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to the agency, the meeting was attended by former British national security adviser Tim Barrow, former state secretary of Germany's Foreign Ministry and former EU ambassador to Russia Markus Ederer, as well as former senior EU and French diplomat Pierre Vimont. At the same time, Bloomberg's sources did not specify which former Russian officials were part of the negotiating group.
