Trump administration plans to spend $927 million on major White House renovation

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump plans to spend at least $927 million on a large-scale reconstruction and modernization of the White House, The Washington Post reports, citing its own data.

According to the publication, this amount includes the costs of work in Lafayette Square, the construction of a new helipad, a visitor screening center, and other projects. The bulk of the funds, according to the newspaper, may come from tax revenues.

At the same time, Trump has previously stated on numerous occasions that the reconstruction would be fully financed by private donors and would not require money from the state budget.
