Greenland blocks U.S. company's attempt to begin drilling in the tundra

Greenland's authorities have blocked an attempt by the American company Greenland Energy, linked to Trump, to begin drilling in the tundra without the required environmental and social permits.

The island's government issued a stern warning over the unauthorized import of equipment and postponed the start of the project until at least the winter of 2027.

This refutes statements by U.S. special envoy Jeff Landry about the start of oil production within 10 months to cover the energy crisis that arose amid the conflict with Iran.
