The EU announces the "largest" package of sanctions against Russia

The head of the European Union's diplomatic service, Kaja Kallas, announced the preparation of new sanctions against Russia, which she plans to present this fall.

The politician spoke about this in an interview with the German publication Die Welt.

According to her, the planned package will be the largest since the start of the military conflict. "If it is adopted, the number of Russian individuals, companies, and organizations under sanctions will immediately increase by a third. The pressure must be increased until Russia ends the war," she said.

The European Union's 21st package of anti-Russian sanctions was adopted on July 23. It included 170 legal entities and 48 individuals. Among them are representatives of the oil industry of Russia and Belarus, banks and payment systems, cryptocurrency infrastructure, as well as the LNG market.
