Ilham Aliyev congratulates Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of congratulations to his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the occasion of the successful holding of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Kurultai.

The letter reads:
"I extend my most sincere congratulations to you and your fraternal people on the occasion of the successful holding of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Kurultai.
I express my confidence that this important event, symbolizing the beginning of a new historical stage in the social and political life of Kazakhstan, will serve the comprehensive development of your country, the continuation of the large-scale reforms you are carrying out, and the implementation of the tasks ahead. I wish the Kurultai success in its work.
The development of our relations with Kazakhstan, with which we are closely bound by common roots, national and spiritual values, and ties of brotherhood, is of special importance to us. The active and fruitful political dialogue with you has given impetus to the further strengthening of the Azerbaijani-Kazakh strategic partnership and to filling it with new content.
I believe that the Azerbaijani-Kazakh friendly relations and strategic partnership, built on a sound foundation, will continue to develop along an ascending line through our joint efforts and to deepen in the interests of our peoples.
