London to hand Kyiv classified data for the production of SCALP missiles
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham will announce the transfer to Kyiv of classified data for the production of long-range SCALP missiles in Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement from his office.
"The prime minister plans to announce that the government has agreed that the defense firm MBDA may hand over classified data on British components for the long-range SCALP missile, as Ukraine and France plan to set up local assembly lines in Ukraine," the statement says.
It is noted that Burnham will arrive on a visit to Kyiv on August 24.
SCALP (the French version of the British Storm Shadow) is an air-launched cruise missile equipped with a subsonic turbojet engine, an infrared homing system, and an onboard processor with GPS. It is capable of flying at extremely low altitudes (30-40 m).
