Ktrich Nersisyan has a daughter: Pashinyan accuses Garegin II of personal vices and taking the AAC beyond canonical bounds
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, presenting the government's program in the National Assembly, made harsh accusations against Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.
During his speech, the head of the cabinet three times referred to the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) by his secular name — Ktrich Nersisyan.
Pashinyan stated that the head of the AAC has an illegitimate daughter and accused him of immoral behavior:
"Your Holiness is depraved. Your Holiness having a mistress is a vice."
Pashinyan also reported that, on his instructions, an official report on the "deep and systemic crisis in the AAC" is currently being prepared. According to Pashinyan's position, Garegin II has effectively taken the Church beyond canonical bounds, with all the consequences that follow from this, Sputnik Armenia reports.
In addition, the head of the government accused clergymen of attempts to "revive" the topic of "Nagorno-Karabakh," stating that such activity creates risks of a new escalation in the region.
