A passenger ship with 260 people on board is sinking off the coast of Kyrenia

A passenger ship carrying 260 people is sinking off the coast of the city of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

According to Erhan Arıklı, the Minister of Public Works and Transport of the TRNC, the incident occurred approximately 4 miles, or about 6.44 kilometers, from the shore. Emergency and rescue teams are currently engaged in large-scale search and rescue operations.
