Zakharova calls Armenia's possible introduction of visas with Russia a step against its own citizens

The likely introduction by Armenia of a visa regime for Russian citizens would be a step directed primarily against Yerevan itself, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"If Armenia suddenly also introduces visas, it will introduce them not against us — it will introduce them against its own citizens," she said.

The diplomat emphasized that such a decision would also have a negative impact on Russians, many of whom have large numbers of relatives living in Armenia.
