U.S. bars Iranian official from speaking at IAEA conference
Iran's Vice President for Nuclear Affairs Mohammad Eslami has been barred from speaking at the IAEA general conference in Vienna.
According to Bloomberg, the reason was pressure from Donald Trump's administration.
According to sources, Eslami had planned to address the United Nations nuclear watchdog, but Austria denied him entry into the country.
An Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the decision not to lift the sanctions that would have allowed Eslami to enter Austria was made following persistent requests from the Trump administration.
