Iran takes step toward joining BRICS Bank
The BRICS countries supported Iran's application to join the New Development Bank (NDB) during the summit in India.
As Iran International reports, this was announced by the spokeswoman for the Iranian government, Fatemeh Mohajerani.
According to her, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held talks with six heads of state, prime ministers, and crown princes as part of the summit.
At the same time, a final decision on Iran's admission to the NDB was not recorded in the summit's final declaration. The document contains a call to speed up the consideration of applications from interested BRICS member states.
The New Development Bank, also known as the BRICS Bank, was established in 2015 to finance infrastructure and sustainable development projects.
