Neftchi veteran Iskender Javadov awarded Honorary Diploma of the president
President Ilham Aliyev has awarded veteran Azerbaijani soccer player Iskender Javadov the Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As 1news.az reports, the head of state signed the relevant order.
According to the document, Iskender Javad oglu Javadov received the award for his many years of fruitful work in the development and popularization of Azerbaijani soccer.
It should be noted that Iskender Javadov is one of the well-known figures of Azerbaijani soccer. He played as a forward and spent most of his playing career at Baku's "Neftchi," whose colors he defended from 1977 to 1988. After ending his career, he continued to contribute to the development of domestic soccer.
On September 20, Iskender Javadov will turn 70.
