Turkish Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek commented on the armed attack that occurred in front of a high school in the Turgutlu district of Manisa Province.
According to updated reports, 11 people were injured in the shooting, with two in critical condition.
According to the minister's statement, the 11 victims include both students and bystanders who happened to be near the İnci Üzmez Anatolian Vocational and Technical High School at the time of the attack. The two critically wounded individuals underwent emergency surgery, and doctors continue to fight for their lives. The remaining victims are receiving necessary medical care at nearby hospitals.
Four people have been detained, including the attacker.
The Minister of Justice reported that, in addition to the teenager who carried out the attack, his mother, father, and grandfather—under whose name the weapon used in the attack was registered—were also detained. He also noted that authorities are currently investigating how the firearm ended up in the child's hands, as well as examining allegations of potential peer bullying.
