Cargo ship struck in the Strait of Hormuz, one person killed

One person was killed when shells hit the bulk carrier MV Cape Dao in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the information, the vessel, flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda, was traveling from the port of Mina Saqr (UAE) to India through the Strait of Hormuz near Oman.

It is specified that two torpedoes hit the port side of the bulk carrier, damaging the living quarters and part of the engine room. There were 28 people on board, 20 of them Indian citizens. The person killed was an Indian. The other crew members were evacuated.

No information is provided on who launched the torpedoes.
