Iran and Ukraine discuss reducing tensions

A meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Ukraine, Abbas Araghchi and Andrii Sybiha, took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

As the Ukrainian minister noted on his social network X, the sides discussed steps aimed at preventing a further escalation of tensions between the two countries. They agreed to keep existing communication channels open, and also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and in Europe and on various directions of current peace efforts.

As part of his visit to New York, Araghchi also held meetings with his counterparts from Pakistan, Germany, and Tajikistan.
