Macron does not rule out re-election for a new presidential term

French President Emmanuel Macron has said he could return to the post of head of state after his powers expire in May 2027.

He told reporters this at the "Lumière Summit" conference; the corresponding video was published on X on the page of the publication Variety.

"Let's be clear: under our constitution, you are entitled to two consecutive terms. So my term will end in May next year, and the French people will elect someone else. But I rule nothing out. A comeback is a rather unusual event, but we'll see. Life is full of invention, sometimes even more than cinema," the politician said.
