IRGC: Iran intercepts U.S. Navy underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz

In the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian forces have intercepted a second U.S. Navy underwater drone.

As 1news.az reports citing Tasnim, this was stated in a statement by the Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"During a coordinated and complex operation carried out with the help of electronic warfare equipment, Iranian Navy personnel were able to intercept an advanced underwater drone belonging to the U.S. Army that was operating in the Strait of Hormuz for reconnaissance purposes," the report notes.

This underwater drone is a variant of the previously seized Remus-600 device and has currently been handed over to specialists in order to recover the data it contains, the IRGC noted.
