EU imposes sanctions against the head of Tatarstan

The EU has imposed sanctions against the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, for the "forced deportation" of children from the conflict zone in Ukraine.

This is stated in a decision of the Council of the EU.

The statement notes that the sanctions were imposed "in the form of an asset freeze and a travel ban" against 10 individuals and 17 organizations, including children's and youth sports camps in Russia and the DPRK.
