Trump: Canada will drop tariffs and apologize

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that within three to four weeks Canada will drop all tariffs on American products and apologize to Washington.

“I think what will happen is this: they will come to us and say, ‘We are dropping all tariffs.’ We will win on everything. They will come and say, ‘Sir, we offer our apologies,’” Trump told reporters at the White House.

According to the American president, Ottawa “treated the U.S. very unfairly,” but now seeks to conclude a trade deal. Trump emphasized that Canada depends on the U.S. in trade and other matters.

“We are purchasing icebreakers. We have a lot of them. Eleven are currently being built. They are asking whether they can use them,” —
