President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the United Kingdom's Minister of State for Defense, Lord Vernon Coaker, on September 30.

As 1news.az reports, information about this was posted on the official website of the head of state.

The guest expressed his gratitude for the reception, noting that it is a great honor for him to be in Azerbaijan and to meet with the President of Azerbaijan.

Touching upon the significance of the "ADEX 2026" and "Securex Caspian" exhibitions being held in Baku, Coaker stated his country's interest in participating in this event. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the high level of organization of the exhibitions.

Noting that Azerbaijan is a very important friendly country for the United Kingdom, he also emphasized his interest in the further development of this friendship.

Expressing gratitude to Lord Vernon Coaker for taking part in the exhibitions, the head of state noted that the ADEX exhibition has been an important international event for many years already.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that a new page is opening in the bilateral partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom — cooperation in the field of the defense industry.

The head of state said that Azerbaijan has been investing in the defense industry for more than 20 years and that today goods are produced in this field both for domestic consumption and for export. President Ilham Aliyev also touched upon the prospects for cooperation with leading companies in the area of supplying modern weapons and equipment to Azerbaijan, as well as the creation of joint ventures in the country, emphasizing in this context the importance of partnership with the United Kingdom.
