The U.S. State Department has revoked more than 250,000 visas since President Donald Trump took office in 2025.

Tommy Pigott, the head of the State Department's press service, said this to the Fox News television channel.

"Under President Trump and Secretary of State [Marco] Rubio, the State Department has revoked more than 250,000 visas — a historic milestone reflecting our unwavering commitment to protecting the American people," he said.

Pigott noted that every visa decision made by the American authorities is a decision "concerning the country's national security." He asserts that thanks to continuous vetting, the U.S. is identifying, on an "unprecedented scale," those who commit crimes, support terrorism, or abuse the American immigration system.

"A U.S. visa is a privilege, not a right, and if you violate the terms of that privilege, you will lose it," Pigott added.
