Pashinyan allows for accepting Russia's proposal to build a 1,000 MW nuclear power plant
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not rule out that the republic will choose a nuclear power plant project with a capacity of 1,000 MW for the construction of a new station.
"Earlier I said that we need nothing more than a modular nuclear power plant, and that was our position. But now, amid these changes (growth in consumption due to the development of AI — TASS note), we must understand [what to do], because a modular [nuclear power plant] will most likely no longer be enough for us. They come in capacities of up to 600 MW, but we must consider what will happen in 10 years <...>. In the coming months we will decide; it is not ruled out that a 1,000 MW station will be the most rational solution," he told reporters, answering a question about the proposal by the head of the state corporation Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, to build a nuclear power plant with a capacity of 1,000 MW in Armenia.
