Trump is confident he will be impeached if the Democrats win the elections

U.S. President Donald Trump believes the Democrats will impeach him if the Republican Party loses the midterm congressional elections to be held in November.

«And in these elections, I'm asking you. We do great when I'm on the ballot. And when I'm not on the ballot, people don't turn out to vote as actively. Pretend that I'm running, please. Just pretend <...>. And if we don't win, they (the Democrats – ed.) will end up impeaching me», - said the U.S. president, speaking before supporters in the state of Oklahoma.

Trump is the first president in U.S. history against whom impeachment proceedings have been initiated twice. These events took place during his first term as head of state, in 2019 and 2021. Both times the impeachment was rejected in the Senate of Congress.
