Kalashnikov presents boats in Baku
The Kalashnikov Concern has presented a high-speed assault boat, a high-speed transport and landing craft, and a civilian passenger-cargo vessel at ADEX 2026 in Baku.
The concern told TASS about this.
"As part of the 6th International Defense Industry Exhibition ADEX 2026 taking place in Azerbaijan, the shipbuilding division of the Kalashnikov Concern is presenting to specialists and guests of the forum ready-made effective solutions to the most complex and varied tasks that arise in the waters of the Caspian Sea," the concern said.
It noted that three key products are being presented in Baku: the BK-10E high-speed assault boat, the BK-16E high-speed transport and landing craft, and the Khaska civilian passenger-cargo air-cushion vessel.
The BK-16E craft is an 18-meter armored boat, proven by time and the experience of long-term operation, for transporting and landing troops on an unequipped shore and providing them with fire support, Kalashnikov said. The undeniable advantage of the craft is the combination of its high combat characteristics, survivability, and a maximum speed of 45 knots. Its cruising range is 400 nautical miles.
In turn, the BK-10E assault boat is a simpler and more mobile means for transporting and landing troops. It is equipped with 7.62 mm machine guns and a grenade launcher. The assault boat has a draft of 0.6 m and reaches speeds of up to 40 knots, which can be tactically useful in the shallow-water conditions of the Caspian Sea and the river deltas of Azerbaijan.
"Since the beginning of the special military operation, the BK-10E and BK-16E have been constantly modernized based on the experience of their combat use. For example, the wheelhouse and troop compartment of the BK-16E are reliably armored thanks to modern high-strength composite materials, and its two engines are also thoroughly protected," Kalashnikov noted.
The third shipbuilding product presented is the Khaska air-cushion vessel with flexible skegs (SVPGS). The main feature of the Khaska is its ability to carry up to 20 tons of cargo, including passengers or troops and motor vehicles. At full load, the vessel can move at a speed of 40 knots, navigate extremely shallow waters, and come ashore on an unequipped beach. The length of the vessel is 23.7 m, and it can overcome obstacles of up to 1.2 m.
"The Khaska SVPGS can be used as a more load-capable and economical alternative to helicopters for supplying oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea, rotating remote posts, or rescue operations. The Khaska can also be used for landing operations," the concern added.
