Five-year limit on the term of office of the YAP chairman is being abolished

The procedure for electing the chairman of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP) is changing.

As APA reports, this was stated by member of parliament Nizami Safarov during the discussion of the amendments proposed to the YAP Charter.

Nizami Safarov said that, according to the Charter currently in force, the term of office of the party chairman is 5 years. Upon the expiration of the term of office, the party chairman may be re-elected by the Congress.

Nizami Safarov noted that this provision has been removed: "The fact that President Ilham Aliyev will lead YAP, which is an organized force, for an unlimited term will lead us to new successes and victories."
