Pashinyan demands compensation in defamation case against 'Hraparak'

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appealed a court decision in a lawsuit against the newspaper 'Hraparak', which previously published an article about his alleged marital infidelity.

Information about this has been posted on the judicial information system Datalex.

In July 2025, Pashinyan filed a lawsuit, calling the publication 'Is Pashinyan cheating on his wife?' defamatory. He demanded a retraction on all platforms of the publication without a time limit, as well as compensation in the amount of 1 million drams (about $2,600).

In March, the court of first instance ordered the publication to retract the information but denied the request for monetary compensation. It is this part of the decision that the Prime Minister has appealed.

The appeal will be considered in the Appellate Civil Court under the chairmanship of Judge Lendrush Hovhannisyan.
