Zelenskyy reveals military cooperation plans with South Caucasus
Ukraine is preparing cooperation with the South Caucasus and is in talks with other partners, offering not only drones but also a comprehensive defense system.
About this, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during his address at the European Council meeting, as reported by UNN.
Ukraine is currently actively working with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region. We are preparing cooperation with the South Caucasus and are negotiating with other partners. And I want to emphasize: Ukraine offers not only drones but a full-fledged defense system, said Zelenskyy.
For example, according to the head of state, "Arab states have strong air defenses against missiles, and we are helping them build protection against Shahed drones and at sea." It is precisely this kind of integrated defense that needs to be created for Europe as well, to protect borders, coastlines, seas, infrastructure, and everything that could become a target.
I believe this should be a truly European project. Of course, each country works on its own defense, but joint European efforts can have a significantly greater effect. The SAFE program is likely insufficient because each country does what it deems necessary and what it can do, while the threats from drones are new and constantly evolving, added Zelenskyy.
The President of Ukraine emphasized the need for coordination and the creation of a common European tool—a drone program.
We are ready to invest our experience, our industry, and our potential, concluded Zelenskyy.
