Media: U.S. may use hypersonic weapons against Iran
The U.S. Central Command has requested the deployment of Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles to the Middle East for potential use against Iran.
This claim is made in a Bloomberg article citing sources.
As noted, if the request is approved, it would mark the first deployment of hypersonic missiles by the United States. Central Command justified its request by stating that Iran has moved launchers beyond the range of the Precision Strike Missile, which has a strike range of over 300 miles (approximately 482 km), according to the agency’s source. The source added that a decision on deploying hypersonic weapons for an operation against Iran has not yet been made.
